The War on Drugs is Not Yet Won

Many illegal and recently legalised drugs have been the topic of discussion lately. But this should come off as no surprise. The policies around drugs and psychoactive stimulants have been dated as far back as the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century in the USA at least. Richard Nixon coined the term ‘War on Drugs’ in 1971 to tackle the growing problem of illegal drug trade. There has been more than $ 1 trillion spent on the drug war, more than 8 million people arrested for the pot since 2000.

But the war on drugs is needed now more than ever. Read on to find out why.
